Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Sales to lead our sales efforts in the dynamic and fast-growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG/ Retail) market in India Region/market You will possess a deep understanding of the nuances of the India Region/market, coupled with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the region.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy tailored specifically to the unique characteristics of the India Region/market.
Identify and capitalize on emerging market trends and opportunities to drive revenue growth and increase market penetration.
Expand our presence in existing markets and explore new market entry opportunities within the region.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor product offerings and marketing strategies to meet the needs of the India Region/market.
Sales Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team capable of achieving ambitious sales targets within the region.
Set clear sales targets and performance metrics for the team, and provide ongoing coaching and support to ensure success.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the sales team.
Sales Forecasting and Reporting:
Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets based on market analysis and sales trends within India Region/market.
Monitor sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting opportunities for growth and improvement.
Implement corrective actions as needed to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment of sales activities with overall business objectives.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop localized sales collateral, marketing materials, and promotional campaigns for the India Region/market.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.
8+ years of experience in sales leadership roles within the CPG/Retail industry, with a focus on the India Region/market
Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in India Region/market.
Deep understanding of the cultural, economic, and regulatory landscape of India Region/market, with experience navigating diverse markets within the region.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a multicultural sales team.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English.
Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute sales strategies that are tailored to the India Region/market.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends specific to India Region/market.
Ability to travel within the India Region/market as needed.
